This movie is a classic in my book and everyone should see it, just like Smiley would say, Th-th-th-th-three times!!!!
Why three?
The first time: Just watch it to laugh. The movie is hilarious. In fact it was the first film Martin Lawrence was in. And all the scenes with Robin Harris are hilarious too.
Second time: Analyze it, take in the commentary on race, especially black people, that Lee put in this movie. I think this movie is great because it hits many of the problems in the black community, from our racist attitudes to the problems in our families. This movie hits home.
Third time: Finally just appreciate the movie. The acting is superb, I really feel like all the characters could be walking down my street right now. (Well maybe not now..but in the early 90's). Its a masterpiece of film making, and as soon as I find it on dvd I'm buying it.
So yeah, Do the Right Thing, classic.
